This is the year.
I want to take writing more seriously, and I thought that writing my resolutions list was the best way of kicking off this new habit, or should I call it micro-habit?
So far, my problem with new years resolutions and goals is that I tend to over-estimate myself and set quite big goals. This time I’ve decided to go with very achievable goals.
IMO the key to achieving your goals is the feedback loop between your destination and your current location, basically knowing how far we are from the finish line? This is why our goals need to:
- Be defined by measurable outcomes
- Be readable through the year
So this is the perfect opportunity for a new section of my site: the dashboard.
Become a Runner
Just kidding, I’m happy to end the year with 500km on my legs, and it will be the first time since I stopped playing basketball.
I have no goal regarding the pace, I just want it to improve through the year :)
There is only one rule, only running kilometers count. Walks and hikes will not be taken into consideration.
I love the Nike Run Club app but hate that they don’t have a documented API. Somehow, I’m getting the data, so I’ll stick with this for now. [Insert blog post link :) ]
Become a Leseratte
Who doesn’t want to read more? I’ve tried this one since I’ve memory.
12 books in 12 months.
I’ve not yet decided where I should track my progress. I have two options: Use a service like Goodreads, to keep count of the read books. For sure they have an API we can use. Track it locally to this project . Maybe even have a section summarizing each book I’ve read. It sounds like a fantastic idea.
Become a Published Author
I think my girlfriend might be right about me being not so funny as I believe 🤣
I want to write one post per week for a total of 52 new posts by the end of the year. It can be about anything, and of course, this one will count :) Measuring this one is by far the simplest as I only need to query my posts folder and filter those published this year :)
Embrace the Dark Side
Well 😏 I'm not sure what you were expecting here. To me is about getting into the Blockchain/Web3.0 universe by developing a project.
I still don’t know what I want to build here. A toy app, some kind of basic NFT collection, a minimum implementation of a crypto coin, ….?
I don’t know the outcome, but I’m so excited just by writing this. I can’t wait to check this in 364 days 🚀
